Job Description
Do you have experience in aerospace or other industries, have you worked in purchasing and/or procurement and want to grow and develop new skills? This position is for you!
The A220 commercial aircraft program is looking for a purchaser for propulsion systems/engines to join our Purchasing team based in Mirabel (Quebec, Canada).
You will be part of the team responsible for engine procurement and will be responsible for contract administration and operational/industrial support. You will contribute to developing procurement strategy, contracting and supplier performance management.
The propulsion system is not a mere "commodity." It is the heart of the aircraft, a system of extreme technical complexity whose performance directly affects fuel efficiency, noise footprint and the A220's reliability. Your challenge will be to translate these technical requirements into procurement strategies and commercial negotiations to ensure that our contracts with the engine manufacturer are not only competitive but also aligned with future innovations and the program's performance objectives. You must understand the technical, legal and financial implications of each contractual decision.
Responsibilities
- Lead contract administration activities: monitor performance and ensure contract terms and conditions are applied in coordination with operational teams and supplier management; manage contract amendments and claims as needed.
- Ensure regular coordination with internal stakeholders and within the propulsion systems purchasing community.
- Produce periodic reports, and develop and update key performance indicators (KPIs) related to timelines, deliverables and performance.
- Review with the finance department monthly account statements, unpaid items and invoice variances, ensuring alignment on cash flow profiles.
- Provide operational support to aircraft assembly lines and supplier support teams, assist with aircraft deliveries and interact with the supplier for letters of commitment when necessary.
- Negotiate with the supplier on non-quality costs and secondary flow costs.
- Manage supplier relationships and implement optimization projects to maximize customer value and reduce total cost of ownership and risks.
In summary, this role manages the full administration of the PW1500G contract (transactions, compliance, finance) and provides essential operational and industrial support, including cost negotiation. You will be the focal point ensuring contractual compliance, financial flow and the operational support essential to the A220 final assembly line.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business Administration with a concentration in Logistics, Purchasing/Operations, Finance, or Supply Chain Management.
- Mastery of purchasing and/or procurement processes.
- Knowledge of accounting/finance (accounts payable/receivable management, invoicing, account statements).
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Knowledge of the aerospace industry; experience with propulsion systems is an asset.
- Good knowledge of software such as Excel, Google Suite, etc.
- Experience and knowledge of SAP.
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Bilingual in French and English.
