Job Description

You have experience managing tender processes and a technical background that allows you to work with engineering teams; you have worked in aerospace procurement and want to grow and develop new skills. This position is for you.

The A220 commercial aircraft program is looking for one (1) buyer for the purchasing portfolio related to service contracts for Engineering. Join the General Purchasing team based in Mirabel (Québec, Canada), where you will work closely with Purchasing teams in the Americas and Europe, as well as with Engineering and Finance.

You will be part of the General Purchasing team responsible for the following purchasing activities:

• Definition of purchasing strategy
• Management of tender processes
• Negotiation of supplier offers (price negotiation)
• Contract negotiation

Your role as buyer will be to coordinate the expression of needs from the Engineering departments located in Mirabel, provide support for drafting specifications together with Europe, ensure that the strategy defined for the Group's global tender processes is taken into account by the engineering teams, and work with the Senior Buyer for Engineering Services on the preparation and execution of these global tenders.

Key Challenges

• Bring Engineering teams to collaborate with their European counterparts on drafting specifications
• Manage relationships with Engineering teams to ensure adherence to tender timelines
• Consolidate information required to launch tenders with Finance and Engineering teams
• Ensure commitments to Purchasing teams in the Americas and Europe are respected
• Work closely with Purchasing teams in the Americas and Europe to prepare and execute tender processes
• Participate in the analysis of offers and assist with their evaluation through different tender rounds
• Attend meetings to support the Senior Buyer for Engineering in preparation and execution activities

Requirements

• Proven experience in procurement, negotiation and contract management
• General technical knowledge in engineering
• Fluency in French and English (required)
• Able to work in a multicultural environment and in contexts where cost and schedule stakes are high
• Agile, with the ability to manage multiple files simultaneously and to prioritize urgent and important matters
• Ability to communicate and interact with various hierarchical levels
