Responsibilities
- Perform structural installation, assembly and sub-assembly of aircraft systems, parts and components according to the project or assigned area.
- Use technical data and instructions provided by the client or aircraft manufacturer.
- Use templates and position components from PVA, engineering drawings or other materials provided by the methods department.
- Read and interpret drawings or the manufacturing dossier.
- Adapt work to different types of assembly: large / small components.
- Set up and use manual or automated machines and tools according to the work to be performed.
- Assemble metal and/or composite parts according to the technical specifications provided by the client.
- Install required fasteners; drill holes; ensure correct products are used for assembly (bolts, solid or mechanical rivets, screws or accessories to fix, support or suspend components and subassemblies).
- Ensure correct products are used for assembly (sealants, adhesives, corrosion protection, paint).
- Ensure assemblies conform to the manufacturing dossier.
- Inspect and verify installed units, parts and equipment to ensure suitability, performance and compliance with technical standards.
- Adhere to quality standards and production rates.
- Comply with health, safety and environmental standards.
- Report any anomaly or irregularity.
- Perform other related tasks as required.
Skills and qualifications
- Minimum five years of experience as a Structure Assembler in the aerospace industry, ideally on the Global 8000.
- Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) in aircraft structure assembly or equivalent.
- Excellent draught-reading skills.
- Manual dexterity.
- Quick thinker with strong attention to detail.
- Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset.
