Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced QA Engineer to join our Vancouver-based team as a QA Technical Lead. This hybrid role combines team collaboration in the office with remote work flexibility. You will drive the overall test strategy, standards and infrastructure for a proprietary data warehouse that underpins our data security platform.
Essential Functions
- Partner with the Product Development Tech Lead to understand the data warehouse product, current testing methodology, and test coverage.
- Partner with the QA team responsible for system-level testing.
- Define the overall test strategy and QA roadmap for the proprietary data warehouse.
- Leverage AI tools to analyze current test coverage and mitigate gaps.
- Define tools, frameworks, and test infrastructure following industry best practices.
- Design and execute a plan for automated performance testing at scale.
- Define QA workflows, triage and monitoring processes across the development team.
- Collaborate daily with QA members and developers; provide ideas, feedback and suggestions for improvement.
- Design and lead the team's overall automation strategy and implementation.
Minimum Requirements
- B.Sc./M.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent.
- 10+ years of experience in Quality Assurance.
- Experience with automated testing.
- Experience with Linux operating systems.
- Experience with scripting languages (preferably Bash and Python).
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies, validation and verification processes.
- Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub/GitLab Actions, Jenkins).
- Proven experience developing, deploying and optimizing testing infrastructure.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years in a leadership role.
- Knowledge of NoSQL database internals and/or data warehouses.
- Familiarity with containerization tools (e.g., Docker).
- Exposure to cloud-based systems (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with Agile development methodologies.
- Experience leading or participating in calls with external customers.
- Strong problem-solving skills in analyzing issues and driving resolutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for diverse audiences.
- Experience using AI-driven tools to analyze test coverage and generate test cases.
Compensation
The anticipated total compensation range for this role is 117,315.32 - 156,524.57 - 196,448.24 CAD annually. The company reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range and to offer additional benefits and compensation depending on circumstances.
