  • At least five years of relevant professional experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Experience with the software, systems, hardware lifecycle or maintenance engineering.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff, engineering team members, management and related stakeholders.

Additional desired skills

  • Ability to solve difficult problems within a team environment.

  • Good knowledge of SysML or other object-oriented design methods.
  • Familiarity with DOORS (Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System), Rhapsody, ClearCase, ClearQuest or Windchill.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Experience in the military naval domain; experience in change management, requirements management, test and trials, safety, security, electromagnetic interference/compatibility, or environmental qualification.

Language requirements

Knowledge of the English language is required for this role so the candidate can perform all job functions. The position requires daily communication with a virtual team outside Québec and with clients and suppliers outside Canada. Engineering candidates must also be able to read, modify and prepare technical documents in English.

What we offer

  • Work/life balance: flexible and compressed hours, the possibility of taking Fridays off and part-time remote work, depending on business needs.
  • Competitive compensation.
  • Time to recover with vacation, personal days, statutory holidays and parental leave.
  • Comprehensive family medical, dental and vision coverage from day one, including 24/7 virtual healthcare, a wellness spending account, an employee and family assistance program with in-person counseling, and travel medical insurance.
