What you need to succeed

  • Vocational diploma (DEP) as a stationary/fixed machine mechanic
  • Class 3B qualification certificate
  • Experience in mechanical maintenance
  • Experience in HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning)
  • Customer service skills
  • Fluency in French (spoken and written)
  • Functional English (spoken and written)
  • Good comprehension and reading of English
  • Team spirit and positive attitude
  • Ability to work independently

Asset

  • Class 2A qualification certificate

Note: The successful candidate agrees to take the necessary steps to obtain class 2A.

Our expectations

  • Maintain required government accreditations.
  • Provide assistance in emergency situations and perform repairs on building mechanical systems until qualified personnel return.
  • Perform maintenance tasks such as painting, cleaning and labelling on HVAC and air compression systems.
  • Ensure the supply of fuel and chemicals for the power plant systems.
  • Complete required documentation, enter and retrieve data in various information systems, and keep appropriate records of parameters to support efficient operations and statistical process control.

What your daily work will look like

  • Carry out preventive maintenance, predict and apply corrective actions on machinery and equipment for steam generation, heating, compressed air, refrigeration, ventilation and industrial water
  • Install and assemble equipment as required by operations
  • Diagnose problems, disassemble machinery down to defective parts and preserve equipment integrity
  • Estimate scope of work and materials required for repairs or replacements and organize work in collaboration with other trades
  • Install, replace, repair, adjust and align parts of various equipment such as temperature controls, regulators, recorders, pressure reducers and automatic combustion control units
  • Use appropriate tools and instruments to verify parameters, adjustments and calibrations to ensure proper operation
  • Monitor, operate and maintain equipment such as steam generators, refrigeration, air compression, heating and industrial water systems
  • Make adjustments on a range of high‑pressure and air‑conditioning equipment
