PAL Technical Services is seeking qualified applications for the position of Repair Manager at our St. John's, NL base. The Repair Manager will manage and oversee repair activities for company owned spare components, including unserviceable part disposition, vendor selection, regular follow up with vendors to optimize and expedite repair, providing updates to PTS management and staff on repair status, and reviewing and rebalancing inventory when repair is complete.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Quarantine review: Review parts in quarantine to determine what needs to go for repair vs what needs to be exchanged.
  • Vendor selection: Determine preferred repair vendor based on cost and lead time; change decision to Repair Vendor in quarantine queue; review existing vendor agreements for pre-determined costs and turn times; research potential new vendors and coordinate setup in WinAir; input preferred vendor in Select Vendor queue and set PO to draft; provide assistance for shipping method/carrier as required.
  • Weekly reviews with vendors and other stakeholders: Ensure no snags related to missing documents/records/subcomponents and resolve snags with Tech Records and Production as required; expedite induction of component for evaluation.
  • Expedite approval: Expedite approval through DocuSign as per PO approval matrix; provide evidence supporting decisions (repair quote, tear down report if applicable, average repair costs and turn time, existing vendor agreement, other quotes received).
  • Re-balance stock levels: Review which base the repaired part needs to be shipped back to, ensuring adequate stock levels at each base; perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Supply Chain and Logistics Management certification an asset.
  • 2–3 years of experience in parts procurement and facilitating repairs preferred.
  • 2–3 years of shipping and logistics experience, specifically regulations and documentation requirements.
  • 2–3 years of technical knowledge of aircraft maintenance parts/components and practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite of Products, especially Excel.
  • Comfortable navigating ERP systems and other computer programs.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize a portfolio; ability to multitask and quickly shift focus is a must.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; comfortable interacting with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented, able to meet regular deadlines and manage time efficiently.
  • Experience with customs and controlled goods.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
