Summary

Includes employees responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting, servicing, repair, modification, installation and functional testing of all types of radio, radar, cabin management and other navigation systems and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and install interconnecting wiring between major units, remote controls and indication devices, and be able to interpret technical drawings.
  • Be familiar with standard avionics installations, practices, materials and manuals related to avionics systems and installations.
  • Assist in removing and reinstalling interior furnishings and perform minor interior aircraft repairs according to expertise.
  • Licensed avionics technicians may be required to certify the avionics installation using the company's ACA where applicable.
  • Perform inspection of components, parts, units and materials to ensure they meet Transport Canada/FAA/EASA airworthiness standards and company standards; follow a company-approved apprenticeship program when required; be responsible for compliance of manufactured components and interior furnishings.

Requirements

  • Trade school diploma and/or appropriate apprenticeship program OR college diploma in avionics or equivalent.
  • 2 years of professional experience leading to in-depth knowledge of AC-DC electronic theory, aircraft audio systems, communication and navigation equipment including pulsing techniques, and/or autopilot and/or flight control systems, applicable civil aviation regulations and the expertise required to perform tasks corresponding to their classification.
  • Possession of an avionics "E" license is mandatory.
  • Ability to lift at least 32 lb overhead.
  • Location: preference for candidates already located near YYZ; other candidates must be willing to relocate before the start of the first shift and be able to do so.
